Young people want the chance to get out of the farms and fields of Baja California. They want to learn. We help make it possible. Instead of a childhood of dawn-to-dark labor, children get scholarships to finish grade school, attend high school, and even earn a university degree.
A few dollars are all that stand between a childhood spent as a field hand and a future in a meaningful trade or profession. If a family can't afford fees, or can't pay for expensive school uniforms, or even buy pencils and papers, then the children in that family can't go to school. It's just that simple.
Children who earn a high school diploma through hard work and a little assistance go on to raise families who have a chance of success in life. But kids who graduate the school of hard knocks, kids who learn nothing more than how to labor hard - those kids will raise families condemned to a life of desperation.
